Step & Repeat Backdrop FAQs

What size step and repeat should I pick, 8x8, 9x8, or 10x8?

8'×8' frames 2–3 people shoulder-to-shoulder; 9'×8' fits 3–4; 10'×8' suits 4–5 or wider camera crops. If space is tight, choose 8'×8'; for group shots or wide lenses, go 10'×8'. All are 8' tall to align with standard venue sightlines and most camera heights.

What’s the difference between 13 oz matte vinyl, 13 oz gloss vinyl, and fabric?

13 oz Matte Vinyl: PVC scrim banner with low glare, best for flash photography and broadcast. 13 oz Gloss Vinyl: same weight but shiny, more pop, more reflections. Fabric: polyester banner (soft hand) with minimal glare and fewer creases on display; prints via dye-sub for rich color. Vinyl is most rugged for repeated handling; fabric travels/photographs best.

Is it printed on one side and what printing process is used?

This backdrop is one-sided only. Vinyl options are CMYK large-format printed (latex/UV class inks) for durable, wipeable graphics. Fabric is dye-sublimated into the fibers for deep color with soft, glare-free finish. All options are full-color edge-to-edge.

What hardware comes with it and can I order just the insert?

Choose Frame + Insert (complete telescopic-style display) or Insert Only (banner sized to fit the frame). Inserts are finished to mount on the frame (e.g., pocket-style or comparable fitting) for quick, tool-free setup. Insert Only is for existing compatible frames, match your frame size before ordering.

How should I set up artwork for a repeating logo so it photographs well?

Provide vector logos (AI/PDF/SVG) or 300 PPI rasters at full size; we print at ~150 PPI final. Keep critical elements 3" inside all edges to clear hems/pockets and stand hardware. For a pattern, supply either a single tile (we’ll step/repeat) or a full layout with 8–12" spacing between logos; avoid very small logos that moiré on camera.

What’s the production time and how does Next Day work?

Standard production is 3 business days; Next Day is available and priced as a percentage uplift on the order total. Production time starts after artwork approval and excludes transit; shipping speed is separate. For tight deadlines, choose Next Day and expedited shipping.
