Gray Business Cards FAQs
What stock are the Gray Business Cards printed on, and how thick are they?
They’re produced on 26pt uncoated gray cover stock in your choice of Light Grey or Dark Grey. At ~0.026" thick (about ~520 gsm), they’re rigid, matte, and easy to write on with pen or pencil.
How do colors reproduce on light vs. dark gray uncoated paper?
On uncoated gray, inks soak in slightly and appear more muted. Light Grey supports a wider color range; Dark Grey needs higher contrast. Avoid very light tints and pastels on Dark Grey; use bold solids or metallics for best readability.
Can you print white ink on these gray cards?
White ink isn’t offered on this product. “White” elements will be the paper color. For contrast, consider metallic Silver ink or redesign those elements as a solid spot color. Custom white-ink quotes are not standard here.
What sizes and die-cut shapes are available?
Sizes: 3.5" x 2", 3.5" x 1.75", and 2" x 2". Die-cut options: None, Simple Shape (basic circles, ovals, rounded corners, few curves), or Complex Shape (intricate outlines/inside cuts). Keep corner radii ≥ 1.5 mm and expect ±0.4 mm trim tolerance.
Which printing processes can I choose, and can they be combined?
Options include Offset Printing (1- or 2-sided), Metallic Ink (Gold/Silver/Bronze on front and/or back), and 1-sided Thermography (raised ink). You can combine offset + metallic on a side. Thermography should not be applied over metallic; apply to standard offset spots on one side only.
Do you offer embossing/debossing, and what artwork works best?
Yes, emboss or deboss on front and/or back. Provide vector art for the raised/pressed areas, avoid tiny type below 6 pt, use strokes ≥ 0.5 pt, and keep effects ≥ 2 mm from edges or dielines. Deeper hits are achievable on 26pt but leave adequate counters/spacing.
Is edge painting available, and are there color tips for gray paper?
Edge Paint is available. Solid, saturated colors (including metallic edge paints) show best against gray. Expect slight wicking on uncoated edges; avoid ultra-light pastels. If your design bleeds to edge, we’ll trim then paint for a clean rim.
What file setup do you need for these cards?
Supply separate front/back files. Use 300 dpi CMYK for raster, vector for dielines, metallic ink, emboss/deboss, and thermography plates (each on its own spot-color layer). Include 0.125" bleed and keep critical content 0.125" inside trim. Outline fonts and embed images.
