Metallic Flyers FAQs
What stock are Metallic Flyers printed on?
16 pt premium cardstock with a glossy coating on both sides by default; it’s a rigid, durable card suited for handouts and inserts.
How is the metallic effect applied and where can it go?
A metallic ink/foil layer is added as a specialty spot layer. You can place it on the front only (for front-only prints) or choose front, back, or both sides when printing full color on both sides.
What sizes and quantities are available?
Sizes: 5.5" x 4.25", 6" x 4", 6" x 4.25", 7" x 5", 8.5" x 5.5", 9" x 4", 9" x 6", 11" x 6", 11" x 8.5". Quantities: 500, 1000, 2500, 5000.
Can I print full color on both sides and still add metallic?
Yes. With “Full Color Both Sides,” you can choose metallic on the front, back, or both sides.
What coating options do you offer, and are they writable?
Gloss Both Sides is standard. High Gloss UV Both Sides is optional (available with two-sided printing). Neither finish is suitable for writing or stamping.
Do you offer Spot UV, and can I choose which side?
Yes. Spot UV can be added and applied to the front only, back only, or both sides when selected.
What corner finishes are available?
Square corners, 1/8" rounded (4 corners), or 1/4" rounded (4 corners). Rounded corners reduce snagging and soften the look; allow extra margin in designs near the corners.
How should I set up files for metallic and Spot UV areas?
Supply a separate spot layer for each effect (metallic and/or Spot UV), 100% solid shapes (no gradients), aligned to your CMYK art. Keep fine lines ≥ 0.5 pt and small text bold to avoid fill-in.
What is the production time?
Standard production is 7 business days after approved files. Shipping transit time is additional.
Any design tips or limitations with metallic on photos and small text?
Use metallic on bold graphics, logos, and large accents. Avoid very small type or thin details in metallic areas, and be cautious placing metallic over busy photos to prevent loss of legibility.
