Same Day Postcards FAQs
What sizes can I get same day, and which qualify for USPS postcard rates?
Same-day sizes include 4" x 6", 4.25" x 6", 4.25" x 5.5", 3.5" x 8.5", 5" x 7", 5.5" x 8.5", 6" x 8", 6" x 9", and 6" x 11". For USPS “postcard” postage, stay at or under 4.25" x 6"; larger cards mail at letter/flat rates.
Which paper stocks are available and how do they differ?
Choose 10 pt (lighter, economical), 14 pt (standard), 16 pt (stiffer, premium). Also options include 14 pt Uncoated (best for writing) and 14 pt “Uncoated Back” (coated front/uncoated back) for mixed finish needs.
What coating should I pick if I need to write or inkjet-address on them?
Select an uncoated side wherever you need to write or inkjet, either 14 pt Uncoated, or 14 pt Uncoated Back (use the uncoated back for addressing). Avoid Gloss, Matte, or High Gloss UV on the side you plan to write on.
Do you offer high gloss UV, and how is it different from standard gloss or matte?
Yes. High Gloss UV is a cured coating with a very shiny, slick surface and higher scuff resistance. Standard Gloss is less reflective, Matte is low-sheen. UV is not recommended where pens, stamps, or inkjet addressing are used.
Can you print full color on both sides the same day?
Yes. Choose “Full Color Both Sides” for CMYK printing on both sides. Front-only printing is also available with a blank back. Availability of certain coatings on both sides depends on the stock selected.
What file setup do you need for same-day printing?
Provide print-ready CMYK PDFs at 300 dpi with 0.125" bleed on all sides and safe margins of at least 0.125" inside trim. Flatten transparencies, outline fonts, and embed images for fastest processing.
Are there coating limits by paper type?
Yes. 14 pt Uncoated Back supports front-only coatings (front gloss/matte/UV). 14 pt Cardstock supports coatings on both sides (gloss, matte, or UV). Uncoated stocks do not receive surface coatings.
What should I know about same-day turnaround and quantities?
Same-day production starts after file approval and payment. Availability can vary by quantity, stock, and finish; large runs or specialty coatings may require extra time. Early-day orders are best for same-day pickup.
